YouWeb Entrepreneurs

Our previous technologists who are now founders of YouWeb financed companies:  

• 2007, Ben (Spaceport): An Applied Mathematics graduate of Stanford who joined YouWeb in Summer of 2006 as an intern, led the development of the first  virtual world game on Facebook, and is now working on developing a platform to transition the flash developer ecosystem to moblie at Spaceport
• 2007, Jason (OpenFeint): A valedictorian in video game design and development from Full Sail in Florida, Jason co-founded and is leading the development of the very first social game for the iPhone”Aurora Feint” and social gaming network “OpenFeint” for mobile devices
• 2007, Danielle (OpenFeint): A Cal major in C.S., Danielle joined YouWeb while still finishing up at Cal, and  later joined Jason to co-found Aurora Feint
• 2007, Linus came to YouWeb from Stanford and worked on a number of ideas including Ben’s ideas, and then moved on to a social entrepreneurship project in Nepal building “baby incubators”. He succeeded wildly, and we wish him the best.
• 2007, Kjerstin came to YouWeb while still at Stanford, and after creating a successful non-profit called FORGE, focused on education and literacy in Africa. After spending some time at YouWeb she went back to FORGE to try new ways of funding it
• 2008, Suren (CrowdStar): A graduate in Physics from the University of Vienna, Suren is a recognized expert in Social Networking applications and is now leading a major content platform for mobile social gaming
• 2009, Luis (Pluto): An Electromechanical Engineering graduate of ICAI University in Madrid, Spain, Luis is building a Mobile Edutainment company for kids using tablets
• 2009, Priyanka (Agawi) came as a graduate of NYU and the film industry to YouWeb to write the book on YouWeb and soon fell in love with tech, went to Stanford and joined Rajat at Agawi
• 2010, Rajat (Agawi): A B.Tech in Computer Science from HBTI, India, an MS in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Wharton, Rajat is the Founder of Agawi: the “Netflix of games” for smartphones, tables, and TVs

Our current entrepreneurs:

• 2007, Rohan: After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Rohan moved to New York to work as a quant at Goldman Sachs. He was quickly recruited away by Peter and became YouWeb’s first Entrepreneur in Residence in January 2007. Rohan spent the next two-and-a-half years helping Peter start YouWeb, recruiting new entrepreneurs, working on ideas, and consulting for YouWeb companies, including Spaceport and OpenFeint and co-founded Agawi and Pluto. Among his interests are: Cloud computing, low cost computing devices and bioinformatics
• 2011, Suneet: A BS in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, Suneet spent 4 years as a Product Manager at Microsoft working on Microsoft Office. Now at YouWeb, Suneet is working on non-gaming entertainment apps
• 2012, Jaya: After graduating with an Economics degree from UC San Diego, Jaya worked as an intern at Youweb.  She then joined Crowdstar as a Product Manager for the better part of a year before coming back to be a Youweb EIR.  Jaya is now working within the realm of non-gaming mobile and social

Our full time team:

• Les: Les is an experienced CFO previously of Ask Software, Infoseek, Fractal Software and Business Signatures. He has been involved in 20 IPO and M&A transactions in his career
• Michelle: Michelle is our BD guru, who has been involved in many companies and two startup exits (one to Amazon and one to Walmart.com)
• Ajit: Ajit is our VP of Engineering helping many of our entrepreneurs who need help with getting products out the door. He’s been at HP, SGI, VMWare for many years, and really understands development processes and product MVP decisions.
• Jim: Jim is a former VC who is now helping our companies whenever they need to talk to VC’s or get financing
• Bo: Bo is our financial planner, real estate guru an helps all our entrepreneurs with their numbers
• Mike: Mike is our recruiting wizard and helps all our entrepreneurs with building teams
• Ruth: Ruth provides administrative and financial management at YouWeb

• Want to Explore Ideas in Consumer and Mobile technology

• Are willing to learn new technologies and skills rapidly

• Prefer to work for a small entrepreneurial venture rather than a large company like Google, Yahoo or Microsoft

• Are willing to found or co-found a start-up once they have a product idea that gets traction
